What a home health aide does

Home health aides (HHAs) help clients with personal care and daily living at home, working from a care plan set by a nurse. Many also check vital signs and assist with prescribed exercises, depending on state rules and the agency's services.

Medicare-certified home health agencies must use aides who have passed an approved training and competency evaluation program, so say clearly what training or certificate you require. Private-duty agencies may have different requirements — list what applies to you.
